PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Mite-Y-Phite 0-7-17 is a unique formulation containing three important nutrients that are essential to enabling the plant to develop and maintain a strong immune system. By doing so, the plant is able to overcome environmental stress such as physical damage, heat and drought and better resilience to pests and diseases.
Mite-Y-Phite 0-7-17 contains potassium silicate, a beneficial substance that has been found to alleviate many abiotic and biotic stresses. Not all silicon in soil is soluble and available to crops. The American Plant Food Control Officials designated silicon as a “plant beneficial substance.” Si plays an important role in plant health. Si reinforces cell walls by deposition of solid silica. It is translocated from the roots as silicic acid [Si(OH)4 ] through the xylem until it deposits under the cuticle and in intercellular spaces. Many crops respond positively to additions of supplemental Si. Plants can take up large amounts of Si where it contributes to their mechanical strength. Si helps to protect plants from environmental stress. For some crops, Si fertilization of soils increases crop yield. A second mechanism for the beneficial effects of Si is its role in triggering a range of natural defenses.
CROP TREATMENT RECOMMENDATIONS:
Mite-Y-Phite can be used as a foliar application or through drip and broadcast systems. Recommendations are based on broadcast spray application. When band or directed sprays are used, calculate the rate for the "sprayed acre" only. For most field and horticultural crops the early season applications are directed sprays. For treatment of individual plants, divide rate per acre by number of plants per acre.
GREENHOUSE RECOMMENDATIONS:
Mite-Y-Phite contains important Si for greenhouse crops grown in soilless substrates such as peat moss or pine bark.
EQUIPMENT & TANK CLEANING:
Mixing: It must first be diluted with water prior to mixing with other nutrients or technical materials. Do not add concentrate together. Do not add to highly acid materials. Flush tanks and lines with a solution of 1 gallon citric acid to 100 gallons of water. Follow by flushing with water to rinse out lines to clean out drip irrigation systems.
